Support Ruth's Journey for Justice
Donation protected

On April 29th, Ruth Mufute, a 70-year-old grandmother, mother, wife, Lawful Permanent Resident, and beloved member of our community was held at Logan International Airport and detained at the Wyatt Detention Facility in Rhode Island, prompting swift public outcry and an emergency response from immigrant justice advocates across the state. Following a hearing and strong community court support, she was released to her family. Ruth is now free and safely at home with her family.
But there is still a long road ahead. This was only the first court hearing and there will be many expenses Ruth's family will need to pay for in the coming months.
We're raising money to support Ruth's family so they can pay for travel to their next court hearing in North Carolina, meals, lodging, and other expenses that come with ensuring Ruth will be able to advocate for herself.
Ruth has spent decades supporting those around her and giving back. Now is the time for us to return this love to Ruth and show up for her.
