Hello, my name is Ruthie Thomas. I am a vibrant 80-year-old woman living in Prichard, Alabama. On December 1, 2023, as I ended my work day, I started my walk home from the nearby bus stop when I was viciously attacked by a neighbor’s dog. Typically, this pet is kept inside a fenced yard, however, this evening was different. The brutal attack left me with the reality of becoming a below-the-knee amputee.

As I fight to regain as much normalcy as possible, I have not been able to return to work as I transition into my new normal, learning to navigate life with a prosthesis. Any donations are greatly appreciated, as they will help with my medical and monthly bills.
