Some people quietly become pillars of a community without ever asking for recognition. Russell is one of those people.

For years, Russell has devoted countless hours of his life to Cumberland through the creation of Cumberland on Patrol. He gave his time freely to support local police departments, share information that kept neighbors informed, and stand up for the safety and well-being of others. He never asked for anything in return. He did it because he cared deeply about this community.

Now, Russell needs our help.

Russell is facing an overwhelming series of medical challenges that have completely changed his life. He has suffered a small stroke caused by a blockage in his brain. He has been diagnosed with multiple forms of cancer, including bone, lung, kidney, and prostate cancer. He has developed blood clots in his right calf, spinal stenosis in both his neck and lower back, and doctors suspect peripheral artery disease as well.

He has endured six rounds of chemotherapy, five radiation treatments, hormone therapy, and bone-strengthening treatments. Along the way, he has lost vision in his left eye and now has partial vision loss in his right. He is extremely weak, struggles with balance, and simple daily tasks have become exhausting and difficult.

Because of his health, Russell can no longer work. He has no retirement to fall back on and survives on a very limited amount of Social Security. Day to day life has become a constant struggle, not just physically, but financially and emotionally.

This fundraiser is not about luxury. It is about dignity, comfort, and peace of mind.

It is about helping Russell cover basic living expenses, medical-related costs, and ensuring that he can move into this next phase of life without the constant fear of how he will make it through the next month. After everything he has given to others, he deserves to know that he is not alone.

Russell spent years looking out for this community. Today, we are asking the community to look out for him.
