Support Russell Howser's Memorial Fund

My name is Kate Henderson, and a very dear family that I met through teaching has endured an extremely difficult life situation. This past Sunday, September 21st, a very sweet young man lost his life in a car accident at only 17 years of age. Russell Lee Howser was a student of mine during the time I taught school at High Point R-III while he was living with his siblings and his grandparents, Russ and Laura Cook. Russell always liked to challenge me but in the time I got to know him, I learned he was very kind and just needed to learn how to believe in himself. He was always very determined and he had a good sense of humor, which his classmates always enjoyed. While he moved to a different school and we lost touch, his grandmother and I kept in touch and she always shared how he was doing in school and socially.

About six weeks ago, their family lost a loved one and this caused Russell’s mother to have to quit her job to care for her fiancé who unfortunately passed away. The family has no life insurance and do not have the funds to be able to proceed with arranging a burial or cremation with a celebration of life for Russell. If anyone has ever had to endure the pain of loss, along with financial hardship, you can only imagine the struggles they are facing right now. I have set up this gofundme for the costs of the arrangements so that this burden may be lifted for them.
