Hi everyone—I’m reaching out on behalf of my sister, her 9-year-old daughter Adeline, and their beloved 3-year-old French Bulldog, Ruger.

Ruger isn’t just a pet—she’s Adeline’s dog, her companion, her comfort, and a huge part of her world. Adeline has already had to cope with the loss of past dogs at a young age, and our family is doing everything we can to spare her from more heartbreak and give Ruger the best possible chance.

Recently, Ruger developed a rapidly growing mass on her face. What started small quickly became red, swollen, itchy, and painful. It has since ulcerated, become infected, and continues to fluctuate in size. The veterinarian’s tentative diagnosis is mast cell cancer.

This type of tumor has been releasing histamine and other inflammatory chemicals into her body, causing excess stomach acid, pain, and frequent vomiting. Despite all of this, Ruger is still her vibrant self—full of energy, incredibly intelligent, stubborn in the most lovable way, and always making everyone laugh with her sassy, clownish personality. She’s affectionate, charming, and deeply loved by all of us—especially Adeline.

Ruger has already shown how strong she is. At just one year old, she underwent major surgery for a luxating patella, which cost several thousand dollars. My sister didn’t hesitate to give her the care she needed then, and she’s doing the same now—but the financial strain has been significant.

Her surgery to remove the mass is scheduled for April 1st, and the cost for this procedure alone is $1,665.39, not including additional diagnostics, medications, and follow-up care.

We want to do everything we can to ensure Ruger’s health and quality of life—for her sake, and for Adeline’s. I’m asking for help on their behalf to ease some of this unexpected financial burden so they can focus on getting Ruger the care she urgently needs.
