Help Ruger Heal – One of Big Lake’s Therapy Dogs

Meet Ruger, a lovable and devoted therapy dog who has been a constant source of comfort, joy, and support for the students and staff at Big Lake Independence Elementary School. Ruger has volunteered his time to provide emotional support to children, offering a calming presence for those who need it most. Whether it’s a student going through a tough time, a staff member in need of a pick-me-up, or someone simply looking for a moment of peace, Ruger has been there for everyone, tail wagging and ready to brighten their day.

Unfortunately, Ruger has recently suffered a torn Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) in both of his hind legs, a painful injury that requires extensive medical treatment and surgery. As a result, he is unable to continue his work at the school or enjoy his usual activities. The road to recovery will be long, but we are determined to help Ruger heal and get back to doing what he loves most – bringing smiles to the faces of everyone at Big Lake Independence Elementary.

**The Cost of Treatment:**

Ruger's surgeries and rehabilitation are costly, and we need your help to cover the expenses. The treatment includes:

**Surgery for both torn CCLs**

**Post-surgery rehabilitation**

**Physical therapy to ensure a full recovery**

**Veterinary care and follow-up appointments**

Each surgery and rehabilitation process is crucial to ensure Ruger can make a full recovery and continue his vital work as a therapy dog. Without these treatments, Ruger will not be able to return to the school and continue bringing comfort to the students and staff who have come to rely on him.
