My name is Devon and this fundraiser is for my sweet kitty Rufus. He is a 4 year old cat who I adopted from Tenth Life when he was 1 year old, after having been a stray for the first year of his life. He’s been having some breathing issues and just had x-rays; I found out he has what the vet called “one of the worst diaphragmatic hernia” she’d ever seen.

Essentially, he has a tear or defect in his diaphragm that allows abdominal organs (liver, stomach, intestines) to enter the chest cavity, causing breathing problems and a great deal of discomfort. I was quoted between $4000 and $6000 for this surgery from Veterinary Specialty Services because of the extent of Rufus’ injury.

I’m asking for help with this because it is a life saving surgery that he needs as soon as possible, and I truly appreciate any donation you’re able to offer. Rufus and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
