I have just learned about the unexpected passing of Rudd Rowan -a compassionate, caring, and patient man. While it has been years since I have sat down and spoken with Rudd, he was someone who helped to shape not only my life, but the lives of all the youth who attended Stevens Memorial United Methodist Church in South Salem, NY in the early 2000’s.
When I think of Rudd, I think of all the energy he brought into a room with him. He would welcome any and all of my friends to our youth group activities with open arms and had a kindness that allowed everyone to feel comfortable. It seemed like he was always organizing and leading something for our youth group. Thanks to him I got to participate in so many meaningful activities growing up, such as: overnight youth group stays in NYC, choir recitals, packaging/delivering food and clothing for the Midnight Run, drumming circles, the Crop Walk, rafting trips, etc. Rudd is really one of the main contributors to why I held onto my faith for so long growing up.
Rudd had his own business, "Entasis Woodworks Inc.", and suffered a terrible fall that led to massive brain injury, he is survived by his wife, Susan, and two daughters, Thea and Shana -and I just can’t imagine what they are dealing with during this devastating, life-changing time.
I know I’m not the only one with great memories and appreciation of Rudd and I just wanted to be able to do something to provide a little help for his family in this difficult time. Please consider donating to help them cover hospital bills, funeral expenses, etc. as they navigate through Rudd’s tragic work-related death.
Thank you.
