Please help us support Ruby! She deserves a happy, long life. Synopsis: Ruby, an 8 yo black lab shepherd mix rescue, was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia this Spring and has had a "remarkable" response to treatment per the oncologist! She has completed 7 weeks to date of her 19-week CHOP protocol chemotherapy treatment. We would like Ruby to finish her 19-week treatment protocol as her quality of life is excellent and this treatment protocol is what the oncologist says is medically indicated and appropriate. We are asking for $5000 to help her with her continued chemo at the oncology clinic and two prescribed supplements: Denamarin and Visbiome. We would greatly appreciate any help that you can give to Ruby! ❤️
Hello, I am doing a fundraiser for Ruby, an otherwise healthy, 8 yo robust black lab shepherd mix who found my best friend in 2019 at the age of 5 yo. Friends had seen her posted on a Facebook group as needing a home ASAP due to her family’s circumstances, and if a new home didn’t show up quickly, she would be going back to the shelter (for the 4th time and needing a 5th family). So, they told my best friend about Ruby and she took her in to love and care for her. About 9 months later in 2020, a sick, abandoned kitty showed up as a stray and came to live with Ruby. “Coralee” taught Ruby how to get along with a cat and in the process Ruby and Coralee became the best of friends. We saved Coralee with a cure for aggressive hyperthyroidism, and all was good health and happiness together for over a year.
In 2021, Coralee developed uterine cancer (she had a spay over a year before and the surgeon apparently had not taken out all of her uterus and there was no cancer at the time). Our beloved Coralee lived and passed in a month’s period with wonderful, loving home and medical care. About 6 months later in 2022, Ruby was diagnosed with acute leukemia which also came out of the blue. Ruby was treated immediately for the condition and has had a “remarkable” response (per the oncologist) to the CHOP protocol chemotherapy treatment. Today is 51 days post diagnosis and Ruby is thriving with her continued weekly treatments and has an excellent quality of life. She loves trail walking, squirrel and bunny watching, playing with her neighborhood canine friends, snapping at flies, laying at your feet, and giving the best kisses around!
