support ruby's recovery and healing journey

in mid october of 2023, ruby woke up extremely sick out of nowhere. Over the course of the next couple of weeks, ruby saw over six different doctors and was given different medications/antibiotics and diagnoses after each visit. every day ruby's health got worse until it required a trip to the emergency room and was immediately admitted once the triage nurse saw how dangerously low ruby's oxygen levels were.

ruby spent the next twelve days in the hospital on oxygen and was given various treatments of antibiotics and tests. ruby became so weak that eating or walking independently was no longer possible. this resulted in a nasty fall which made the discharge process that much longer. ruby was eventually discharged in mid november with a diagnosis related to severe breathing issues due to a collapsed and scarred lungs. ruby was discharged with a walker for mobility and full time oxygen which is still in place.

ruby only leaves home for the occasional doctor's appointment and is unable to live anything close to a normal life.

while ruby has been going through this, working has not been possible. since mid october and now into the new year, ruby's spouse has been solely providing full time for a two person household as well as trying to take care of ruby in the process. inflation is high and times are tough for us all. any donation you make will help ruby's household not only sleep better at night, but become a stable enough foundation to begin the journey of deep healing and recovery that this will take. we still do not know when ruby will be able to return to work, even part time. thank you so much to anyone who is able to help in any way.
