Supporting Ruby Morgan’s Recovery
Ruby Morgan’s life changed in an instant when she was a passenger in a high-speed motor vehicle accident on Crescent Head Road.
Ruby was left with critical, life-threatening injuries.
After first responders worked tirelessly to stabilise her, Ruby was rushed to John Hunter Hospital, where she was placed into a medically induced coma. At the time, her condition was extremely fragile, and she was fighting for her life.
Ruby has since undergone emergency surgery for multiple serious injuries, including damage to her pelvis, leg, arm, and lungs. In a moment that speaks to just how critical her condition was, the helicopter doctor returned days later simply to see her — overwhelmed with relief that she had survived.
Now, Ruby faces a long and challenging road ahead. She is currently unable to move and will require extensive rehabilitation to regain her strength and learn to walk again.
Despite everything, Ruby has shown incredible courage. She remains deeply grateful to be alive, while also carrying the immense grief of losing her dear friend, who was also a passenger and tragically died in such a devastating way.
Ruby has now been transferred to Kempsey to begin her rehabilitation, so she can be close to her mum, a single parent who has not left her side and the loving family supporting them through this life-altering time.
The road ahead is uncertain, and the impact of Ruby’s injuries will be lifelong. We are asking for support to help ease the financial burden of her recovery, rehabilitation, and ongoing care.
Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a meaningful difference.
Ruby and her family are beyond grateful for the kindness and generosity shown by the community. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting our beautiful girl through the toughest time of her life.
