In Loving Memory of Ruben Torres Gomez Sr.
June 8, 1951 – May 16, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Ruben Torres Gomez Sr., who left us peacefully on the morning of May 16th at 6:30 AM.
Ruben was born on June 8, 1951, and grew up surrounded by love with his parents, Cuca and Nolberto Gomez Sr., and his five siblings. He went on to build a life rooted in love and family with his wife, Audelia, whom he was married to for 43 beautiful years. Together, they created a home full of warmth, laughter, and lasting memories.
He was a proud father to four children: Maria, Ruben Jr., Vicki, and Jr. His heart grew even bigger as his family expanded — blessing him with 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Ruben had a zest for life and a love for the simple pleasures that made him who he was. He was a die-hard fan of the Lakers, Dodgers, and Rams, cheering on his teams with unwavering loyalty. He enjoyed life’s everyday comforts: a good bologna sandwich with potato chips, a warm bowl of menudo, and his favorite drinks — hot coffee, Sprite, and more recently, sparkling water.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and dedication — remembered not just for the life he lived, but for the lives he touched.
As we prepare to lay Ruben to rest, our family humbly asks for your support. We are raising funds to fulfill his final wish of being buried next to his beloved mother in Bakersfield, CA. Any contribution, no matter how small, is deeply appreciated and will help us honor him in the way he deserves.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find peace in knowing that Ruben is now reunited with loved ones and resting in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
Thank you for your love, support, and prayers during this difficult time.
