My name is Rozlind and on January 6th, 2025 I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

It all started with an MRI that I needed done for my chiropractor after being in a car accident. The MRI showed a mass in my thyroid and kidney. Taking precautionary measures, my PCP ordered several tests which included a mammogram. I was asked to return the very next day to complete an additional mammogram, which preceded another return visit to complete a biopsy.

Nothing could have prepared me for the moment I learned that I had breast cancer. From then on everything in my life has been moving at warp speed. Appointments, phone calls, and the range of emotions that seem to change in an instant have become my new norm.

I’m hoping that there is a generous soul out there that can help me get through this time. Financially, I’m unable to qualify for assistance due to me not being 300-500 percent below the poverty level. Co-pays as well as the unknown medical bills that await me are overwhelming, and I am already in the negative. What makes things more complicated is that since the age of 8 I have lived with type 1 diabetes.

A few things about me; I love being an aunt and enjoy spending time with my nieces and nephews and I love spending time with family and friends too. I am an animal lover and have a very spoiled dog named Choco. I am a strong advocate for the underserved and have dedicated my career to helping those who have been incarcerated, sex trafficked, or seriously mentally ill. Service to others has always been of great importance to me.

My doctors and I will be moving forward with a mastectomy following reconstruction surgery. While I do have private insurance it does not cover any co-pays, supplies needed, transportation, and only 70% of surgery. I have a full-time job however, my work hours are limited due to lack of transportation since my car was totaled in the accident, other appointments, and now my cancer related appointments.

I am asking you to please help me raise money for the cost of treatment.
