Roy was injured badly in a hit and run accident while riding his E scooter. Roy was coming home from his over night shift and was riding in Newark, NJ when the incident happened.

Roy sustained 2 broken legs and a punctured lung. He already has completed surgery to his legs. There are other various injuries to his body as well.

When receiving the call from Roy, it hurt me because he was not himself. Roy is confused, worried, hurt, and heart broken.

(Update: We visited Roy. He is in pain, but being able to make him laugh a bit was a great sign. We handled some life situation things that came as a result of the incident. He remains worried about financial responsibilities and that is the last thing he should be concerned with. We are doing our best to help alleviate any burdens he now has. Roy and his family would be appreciative of any support.)

I've known Roy for about 7 years. We play video games together, basketball, discuss parenting, and how we try to make the best out of our situations. He has positive energy, a sense of humor. His family needs him and he needs our help.

Roy is a family man who takes great care of his children. He prides himself on being a caretaker.

Roy's life story is a a rough one. He doesn't have much family from his side to depend on. He never liked taking pity for it. He works hard to be the best man he can be, regardless of any predicaments he is in.

We are hoping the driver of the vehicle is caught. Until then, the only thing I could think of is to start a Gofundme.
