Help Roy on His Road to Recovery

Before his stroke, Roy was the kind of person everyone could count on. He was always happy, positive, and ready to lend a hand to family, friends, neighbors, or anyone in need. His generosity, sense of humor, and caring nature touched the lives of so many people.

In October, Roy suffered a massive stroke that changed his life forever. The severity of the stroke caused significant swelling in his brain, and doctors had to remove part of his skull to relieve the pressure and save his life. While Roy survived, he now faces enormous challenges every day.

As a result of the stroke, Roy is paralyzed on one side of his body, affecting both his arm and leg. Simple tasks that most of us take for granted now require assistance. His recovery depends on ongoing physiotherapy and support from personal support workers (PSWs), who help him with daily activities and rehabilitation.

The emotional and physical toll has been immense, but the financial burden has also become overwhelming. Every trip to and from the hospital for specialist appointments costs approximately $700 each way. In addition, the cost of PSW support and ongoing therapy continues to place a significant strain on Roy and his wife as they navigate this difficult journey.
