Update 4/15
He is about the same as the last couple of days. He still has a lot of confusion. He doesn't know where he is or what happened to him. We just keep telling him. He is doing good at eating he has to have a thick diet so everything he eats or drinks has to be thick. They are just waiting to make sure he is going to eat enough to give him enough nutrients before they remove the feeding tube. Physically therapy came in yesterday and today they got him up walking a little with a walker and two person assist. He did pretty well for the length of time he has been in bed. However he is pretty persistent on just getting up out of bed. He gets frustrated and tells us he can do what he wants. lol. He also has his sense of humor. We have been laughing allot these last two days. He will be going to rehabilitation soon.

Update 4/13—Roy is more alert with each day. He is talking but alot of what he says and people he mentions is from years back. His stories that he talks about aren't really true or makes sense. If you show him pictures of people he can tell you who they are or he will say I know the person but can't recall the name. We asked him today what his birthday was and he was able to tells us that. We asked him how old he was and he said 34. So he still has much confusion. He still has the feeding tube and the gloves on his hands that really agitated him but hopefully soon the feeding tube can come out. He has to have a nurse sitting right by him the whole time because he is persistent that he tries to get out of bed.

UPDATE 4/11– we are at just over 3 weeks since Roy’s medical emergency. Yesterday afternoon Roy has been moved out of ICU and is now on the Neuro floor. He has some good moments where he seems to understand things, but for the most part still very confused. Is awake alot more and becomes very agitated because he wants to get up.
please keep those positive thoughts and prayers coming.

UPDATE 4/5—It has been 2 1/2 weeks since Roy’s medical emergency. The breathing tube was removed on Friday. He is trying to talk a little. Very very confused. We have been informed that he also had a stroke. Roy has a very long road ahead. Please keep sharing and praying.

Update:3/28
It has been a week and one day since Roy’s medical emergency. Up till today Roy has been in the ICU and will continue to be. Roy has been responding to commands given by the neuro team. Yesterday he had to have an angiogram because of spasms. They were hoping to correct it with medication, but was unsuccessful so they had to put in 3 balloons to get the blood to flow in 3 of his main arteries. He has been responding more each day, but not out of the woods yet. Please keep the thoughts and prayers coming. It means so much to his family.

UPDATE-
Roy is still in the ICU- Not out of the woods yet. The nurse stated today that he will have good days and not so good days. He still has the breathing tube. At this point we still have no idea where he is neurologically.
Please keep those prayers and positive thoughts coming.

As many of you know, my brother Roy Decker had a very serious medical emergency on Wednesday, March 19. He was taken to Albany Medical Center, where they discovered he has an aneurysm on the brain that burst. With this comes a very extensive stay in the hospital and a very long, long recovery. Besides having no medical insurance, he was also the main provider for his family. I am asking for you to help us take this burden away from Roy so he can focus on his recovery without worrying about how he will pay his bills. Anything you are able to do would be very helpful and appreciated.
Just a little background on Roy, he has been with and a huge supporter of Kenneth’s Army since the beginning. Roy is also a contractor and jack of all trades. Roy is well known for his contagious laugh and all around sense of humor. Please keep Roy in your thoughts and prayers
