Our sweet Rowan is just 13 months old and has been bravely fighting MSUD (Maple Syrup Urine Disease) since birth. MSUD is a rare genetic condition that affects how the body breaks down proteins. Without constant care, it can quickly become life-threatening. Over the past few months, Rowan has spent more time in the hospital than at home. Despite every treatment, she now desperately needs a liver.
While I trust God’s timing and provision, the journey has brought heavy burdens on our family. Since Rowan’s diagnosis, I’ve only been able to work part-time from home. Daycare isn’t possible because of the high risk of sickness and hospitalizations.
My biggest challenges right now are:
• Covering my home expenses (mortgage, bills, food, and travel) while Rowan is in the hospital.
• Being away from my other children during the long stay in Pittsburgh once Rowan receives her transplant.
• Managing travel and living costs while I am away from home with Rowan during her recovery.
Thankfully, insurance has covered Rowan’s medical expenses, but I don’t know what future transplant-related costs may arise.
I am humbled to ask for help. To have finances not be a worry while I focus on her recovery, would be a great blessing. If you feel led to give, know that any amount—big or small—will make a real difference in keeping our family afloat during this season. First and foremost, I ask for your prayers for Rowan’s healing, protection, and for strength and peace for our family.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and support. I truly could not walk this road without the love of others surrounding us.
With gratitude,
Brittni
