Support Route 44 Tire & Auto Center's Relocation

Hello, my name is Mark. I operate a small automotive shop in Canton, CT, Route 44 Tire and Auto Center. We are a family-owned and operated business that was started by my father, Moe. We have 8 bays, 6 lifts, and a lot of equipment. We have been in the same location for 18 years.

AUGUST 20th, we received a notice to quit the premises by September 1, 2024, which is obviously not a lot of time, and clearly not sufficient time. The current owners of the building sold their body shop, which occupies the other half, to a corporate body shop who says that space alone is not enough for them to be productive. They want to lease the whole building, forcing us out and with little to no communication with the current owners, it has left me with no time to find a new location, let alone move the equipment.

We have 5 employees with families at home and mortgages to pay that are counting on coming to work and receiving a paycheck every week, included myself. I do not see how that can happen given the current time constraints and uncertainty, and I fear that we will lose the business all together without a place to operate. That is why I am asking for help.

Anything that you can give would be greatly appreciated and will help us find a new location and stay in business. We have been servicing this community for 18 years and, with your help, hope to continue servicing the cars of this community for another 18 years. Thank you for your time and consideration.
