Support Ross's Recovery from Brain Surgery
Donation protected
We have been privately battling with hearing loss in Ross’s right ear since the end of February. He woke up one day with sudden loss of hearing and we began the process of elimination to find answers. After months of running around to different doctors we finally got an MRI the first of June which showed a tumor in the right side of his brain which is approximately the size of a golf ball. We then found out that he has an acoustic neuroma. Then began the search of finding the best medical team to care for him. We have decided on a great team of doctors at Duke. They have done a ton of scans, labs, and investigation to learn the tumor is benign but growing close to his brain stem and required immediate surgery. This team of doctors will remove as much of the tumor as safely possible on August 5th. His surgery will last 8-9 hours, he will be in the hospital for approximately one week following his brain surgery, and will have to be out of work for six weeks. As most of you know Ross is the sole financial provider of the family. Courtney is a stay at home Mom, so this is going to put a financial burden on the family over the next few months. Courtney has had three knee surgeries in the past year. They have worked to carefully manage their finances, with Ross even still working through Courtney’s surgeries. Even so, this unexpected absence from work due to brain surgery is unavoidable and will put a huge financial strain on the family. Please consider donating either through this or reaching out to Alexis for immediate needs such as fast food gift cards, credits to boarding Dolly while Ross and Courtney are in hospital at Duke, or meal coordination once they are home.
