We are the family and friends of Mitaud Louis, Guiteau Anicette and family, and Katiana Terguste and her daughter. In the early morning hours of Sunday July 13th, 2025, Mitaud, Guiteau, Katiana, and their families, the residents of 143 Poplar St in Roslindale, awoke to smoke and flames. Fire had broken out on the first level of the home but quickly spread throughout the building, forcing everyone to quickly flee. The fire left their home unsafe and uninhabitable. They lost nearly all of their personal belongings and are now faced with the painful reality of starting over.
- Hello nou se fanmi ak sanmi Mitaud Louis, Guiteau Anicette avéc fanmil, épui Katiana Terguste avéc pitit fille. Two residents had to be rescued by firefighters via upper-floor windows, and one young resident was treated for a minor injury sustained when exiting the home through a window. We are so lucky that everyone was able to exit the building and is overall physically safe, but emotionally and financially, the road ahead will be incredibly difficult for all.
- Moun yo pédi tout sa yoté ginyin. Nou koutan pa gin anyin ki pasé grave. Seulman on ti pitit fille kité a lé lopital pasé manman li té lagé li anba nan yon tenét pou te sové lavi li. Timoun sa kité 4 jou talé lopital li anfórm.
Unfortunately, none of the residents had renters insurance, meaning there is no coverage to help with the cost of lost items, temporary housing, or rebuilding their lives. They are now trying to pick up the pieces with nothing but the shoes on their feet.
- Problèm moun sa yo ginyin kannia sé re-cómansé. Moun sa yo travaill di pou tout sa yo té ginyin.
Family, friends and neighbors of Mitaud, Guiteau and his wife and children, and Katiana and her daughter all know how hardworking and caring they all are. Even when times are tough for them, they are still the kind of people to go out of their way to help others—and now they need help from us.
We’re raising funds to help them find stable housing, replace basic necessities, and begin to rebuild their life after this unimaginable loss. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. Please donate if you can, and share this page to help us spread the word.
