2/20-I know a lot of you have been waiting on an update about Rosie so thank you for your patience, it’s been a pretty busy few weeks. Rosie has officially been given a diagnosis of stage 4 melanoma. Although this is a serious diagnosis, remission is possible! Treatments for this type of cancer have come a long way and we have some of the best doctors on their care team. Rosie has already begun treatment and is damn determined to beat this. If you know them, you know how strong AND stubborn they are, so we are feeling positive about the outcome. That being said, this is going to be a really long road to recovery with lots of treatments and variable outcomes. Monetary support is truly the best way to help right now. We are so grateful for everyone who has already donated and shared, let’s keep it going!♥️
UPDATE 2/3: Rosie is doing amazingly well! They are up walking around and cracking jokes. The doctors have said they are recovering extremely fast considering everything they have gone through. There is a good chance they will be moved to a rehabilitation center either today or tomorrow. There is still a really long road ahead to regain fine motor skills and speech but the progress has been incredible. They can definitely feel the outpouring of love and healing from all over right now. We are still waiting for oncology results to come back, but for now we are celebrating!
On Monday January 26, 2026, our dear friend Rosie was admitted to the neuro trauma ICU. They woke up with impaired speech and extreme brain fog, and after being seen at the ER was told there had been a severe brain bleed. At this time, it was thought this was due to AVM (arteriovenous malformation) a tangle of blood vessels that creates irregular connections between arteries and veins in the brain. After several days of observation, symptoms took a quick decline on Thursday January 29. Rosie had an emergency craniotomy to relieve pressure. During the surgery, they ended up finding a brain tumor which was successfully removed as well as draining a good amount of the blood that had built up. Rosie responded extremely well to the surgery and is now more coherent than they have been all week! We are still waiting on results to see if this tumor/mass is cancerous or not and they will remain under close observation at the ICU for the foreseeable future.
This is going to be a really long and difficult road to recovery, and Rosie is going to need all the help they can get. We all recognize times are tough right now, but we also all know how special of a human Rosie is.. a literal earth angel and truly one of the most loved people I have ever met. This has been extremely stressful, and we want to make sure that during this healing period they don't have to worry about finances while not able to work. Anything donated will go directly towards medical bills, Hex care, rent, etc.

Although Rosie has improved, they are still tired very easily. We know everyone wants to talk to or see them right now but we don't want to overwhelm. But we do have a place where you can leave messages! Please add any notes or well wishes you want Rosie to read, or be read to them below! You can mark off ones you’ve read while you’re visiting if you’re local to Portland- but I don’t see why not read them over and over?
**If you want to upload a voice memo or video, you can drop that into this google drive folder and whoever is visiting can play them for Rosie!
*label your memo/video with your name/date if you can!
