Support Rosie’s Cancer Recovery

Rosie, my sister, has always been the rock in our family. She is someone I look up to—loving, generous, and always ready to help anyone in need. Rosie loves to cook and finds joy in making people happy, especially when things are tough. She’s the first to speak up when something isn’t right, and even if we don’t always want to hear it, we know she truly has our best interests at heart. We love her dearly, and it’s heartbreaking to see her face cancer for a second time.

Cancer does not run in our family, and Rosie has even been tested to see if it’s hereditary—it isn’t, which makes her diagnosis even more shocking. Rosie has always given so much to others, and now it’s her turn to be supported.

Six years ago, Rosie was diagnosed with rectal cancer and endured months of chemotherapy, radiation, and a difficult surgery to remove the tumor. Her recovery was long and painful, but she remained hopeful and, after treatment, was blessed with six years cancer-free. About six months ago, Rosie began experiencing new health issues. After a biopsy, she was diagnosed with uterine cancer. She underwent a hysterectomy and is now receiving chemotherapy once again.

Rosie moved from Clovis to Escondido to be closer to her only granddaughter, following her heart and her family. While her son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter are nearby, the rest of our family is far away, making it difficult to be with her during treatments and recovery. Rosie also has a daughter, another son, and a grandson who love her dearly. One of her children lives in Las Vegas and another in Santa Maria, and it is financially difficult for them to take time off work and travel to be with their mom. The funds raised will also help them visit Rosie and support her during this challenging time. We do our best to visit, but travel is challenging and expensive.

Right now, Rosie is not able to take care of things financially, so her immediate needs—medical bills, living expenses, car payments, insurance, phone bills, and medical equipment—are especially urgent. Her California state disability has stopped, and she is now in the process of applying for Social Security disability. Unfortunately, this process takes time, and she has no income in the meantime.

Thank you to my family, friends, and anyone who would like to help. If you can support my sister through her treatment in any way, it would mean so much to us. Any support or sharing of Rosie’s story is greatly appreciated. Your help truly means a lot. Thank you.
