We are thrilled to share that two outstanding students from Houghton High School, Rosie Eisele and Samantha Blake, have qualified to represent Michigan at the National History Day Competition this June at the University of Maryland, College Park!
After months of research, writing, and presenting, they earned a top spot at the Michigan History Day State Finals, and now they’ve been invited to join students from across the country for the national competition. This is a huge honor and a once-in-a-lifetime academic opportunity!
Now, we need your help to get them there.
The competition spans several days in early June 2025, and travel expenses—including flights, lodging, meals, and transportation—add up quickly. We are seeking to raise $7,000 to help cover these costs and ensure these talented students can take part in this life-changing experience.
Here’s how you can support:
Make a donation of any size—every dollar helps!
If you can’t donate right now, please consider sharing this campaign with friends, family, or on social media. Your support means the world to us!
Your generosity will help open doors for Rosie Eisele and Samantha Blake—not just at this competition, but in their academic and personal growth for years to come.
Thank you for believing in our students and supporting the power of education and history.
