Support Roseway Heights 8th Graders' Seattle Trip

We are so grateful for your support raising money for Seattle! We are nearing the end of our fundraiser and our student travelers have babysat, sold donuts and pizza, collected bottles & cans, threw a Bingo Night, Raffle and have canvassed local businesses directly asking for support. Despite these efforts, we still need your help reaching our goal! Let's get these kids to Seattle!

Many of us can reflect on an opportunity we were afforded that changed the course of our lives. We are asking for your donation to support such an opportunity through funding student travel for 8th graders at Roseway Heights, a Title 1 middle school in Northeast Portland, OR. Donations will allow our 8th graders to spend 3-nights and 4-days exploring Seattle.

Roseway Heights is a Title I school meaning "that [it] serve[s] children who have risk factors like poverty or high mobility. Research has demonstrated that these factors make it more difficult for children to be successful in school." Our school's vision is "to create a learning environment where all students can become lifelong, resilient learners and global citizens to achieve their fullest potential within a diverse society. We strive to provide an equitable and rigorous curriculum to all students, foster curiosity, and deepen our understanding of the world around us."

This opportunity will allow our students to practice their global citizenry by extending the classroom walls into the streets of the Emerald City. Through a balance of new adventures and educational tours, students will experience the important lifeskill of navigating freedom with responsibility. They will also strengthen their bond with their schoolmates before they embark on their next adventure together: high school.

Our goal is to extend this opportunity to as many students as possible. Through an unprecedented community effort last year, we were able to fund 17 full scholarships and 7 partial. Please help us create opportunities for our amazing 8th graders this year through your tax deductible donation.
