I've never done anything like this, please bear with me.

It's with a heavy heart I'm writing this. Rose isn't just a dog to us. She is my fur baby & my son's BFF.

Some of you know her situation. For those of you that don't, she's our 10-year-old rescue Bulldog . She was bred from her first heat until she was almost 9 years old. She was crated, neglected, and abused. When she was no longer able to be bred, they abandoned her, leaving her with the dog sitter (who has a full house with children and dogs of her own). She was unable to keep Rose due to city laws. The previous owner told her to have Rose put down, stating no one would ever want or love her. Hearing her story and my son's love for Bulldogs, we took her in. We were not fully aware of the medical issues this poor baby endures. She had a double ear infection, nails overgrown (due to neglect, the quick is overgrown), major allergies, skin issues (including massive skin tags), cloudy eyes, and multiple mammary tumors (2 in the front of her chest are baseball-sized). Surgery to have her spayed and remove the tumors is too risky due to her age. The vet told us to keep an eye on them; if they got worse, we would need to discuss end-of-life care. We have made changes, and they have helped thus far.

About a month ago, Rose started to change. She's not as mobile (lays on her bed 24/7), distant, her tumors grew, she's losing weight, and has major skin issues.

I spoke with the vet's office. They believe given her age and condition, putting her to sleep would be best. We are absolutely heartbroken over this. Funds are very limited due to an unexpected move.
