My name is Rose. I’m trying to escape a domestic violence situation (so far only mentally, emotionally, and verbally abusive). I’m chronically ill and disabled. I’m a mom to a 10 year old autistic son. His father is also mentally, emotionally, and verbally abusing him. He’s being encouraged to verbally and physically abusing my son by a so called “friend” that he’s been in love with for almost 30 years. She’s a TERRIBLE influence on him and is trying to buy the love of my son. And to be honest, my ex does not need much influence either to be a terrible human being towards people.

I have several fur babies that are all rescues from my apt complex streets. The first one is a dog. His name is Chance. He’s around 13-15 years old. Rescued him 9/30/2015, when my son was 3 months old. Second one is Harley and he’s about 5 years old. He is a black kitty who currently still prefers outside, so he’s there mostly with nightly visits inside and visits when it’s super hot or is super cold outside. Third one is Gray and he is about 4 years old. He is a kitty that I took in on 9/6/2024. He’s my first indoor kitty. Fourth one is Luna Selene. She is a kitty and is around 1.5 years old. I brought her inside as an 8 week old kitten on 8/18/2024. And the last, but certainly not least, kitty is Max. He is the same age as Luna and I am fairly certain Luna and Max are from the same litter since I found him with an identical kitten to Luna (who I gave to a neighbor). I found him on 8/22/2024.

I love them all so much (my son and our 5 fur babies). My abusive ex is trying to shut me out on decisions for my autistic son’s schooling. He is being encouraged to do so by his woman “friend” (I’m fairly positive they were having an affair, and still are, when he and I were still technically together based on text proof I found). I have text proof of ALL of this. I’m trying to raise funds for a lawyer to help with child custody. (Luckily, my ex and i only were engaged and NEVER got married.) And a lawyer to help me with palimony. I have a witness who can provide a witness statement that he promised to take care of me for the rest of my life. Yet as soon as my chronic illnesses got worse, he pulled away from me even more and now says I’mm faking everything for attention, even though I have actual PROVEN diagnosis’s from my drs. I’m currently in limbo on my first disability insurance claim with Social Security Administration (SSA) and I’ve applied for both SSI and SSDI, as all of my chronic illnesses started BEFORE I stopped working, so I still qualify for the one I paid into when I was working. I’m unable to work at all. I can’t stand for too long. I can’t sit for too long. Heck, I can’t even lay down for too long, but that is the less painful road. I am on a pain killer. I now have blackout falls every day in a week and sometimes several times a day depending on my stress level.

I need all of the help I can get. I have ZERO income right now. Can’t apply for a kind of state aid (Food Stamps and Cash Aid) until my abuser no longer lives at the same address as me or receives mail at my address because he’s my son’s father. I’m still trying to get help from local DV organizations to find me a safe place to go. My ex REFUSES to let my son go with me to a shelter of any kind. So far, NONE have free space anyways. One organization I FINALLY reached after trying for THREE DAYS, I got through to on day three, might be able to get me voucher(s) for a hotel. So, I need funds for that if and when those run out and until I can get some kind of financial help. I’ll need to be able to provide necessities for myself, my son, and our fur babies. Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.
