Support Rosemary's Recovery from Hurricane Devastation

Those of you who know my Grandma, Rosemary Jones, first think of her as a funny, upbeat, quirky woman who would do anything for anyone. For now, those traits have faded a bit as she deals with the life changing devastation that she's experienced. And, because she's 86 years old, there's a lot of confusion about what has actually happened. Rosemary is still as independent and stubborn as ever and not having control over her situation is very frustrating for her. And, if you know her, you know exactly what I mean!

Hurricane Helene hit Treasure Island, Florida very hard, which is where Grandma has lived for 12 years. For those who haven't been thru something like this, it's difficult to imagine the devastation. The damage from the flooding was horrific as the hurricane forced its way into the coastal homes. In addition to the water, mountains and mountains of sand were left where homes, cars, and streets used to be. It's almost as if Treasure Island was never a city but a huge beach.

Grandma lost everything. Everything inside her home was destroyed. Her car was totaled. The only thing she has with her was the change of clothes she packed when being evacuated.

The biggest blessing is that Grandma and her sidekick, Smokey, are healthy and safe. She is temporarily staying with a family member, but the reality of it all is that she is now homeless, with no personal belongings and no clothes, except those on her back.

As most of you know, insurance and FEMA take time to provide funds if it's approved. Both never guarantee any assistance. This is shocking as they have all the proof that they need if they watch the news videos of the devastation.

Anything you can do for Rosemary would be immensely appreciated. Sending donations, prayers and love her way will hopefully put that spunk back into her step. Donations will assist in providing Grandma with housing, furniture, and clothing. Any donations not directly used for Grandma's recovery will be donated to others in Treasure Island who have lost everything.
