Support Rosemary in Caring for Jane's Dogs
Donation protected
My friend, Rosemary Stevens, a retired 94-year-old (almost 95, she’s fond of saying), adopted these two elderly dogs sight unseen when I told her about them.
When the daughters of my friend Jane posted on Facebook that they needed to rehome the two, I felt my heart break all over again. We lost Jane unexpectedly a few years ago, and her husband was unable to care for them any longer. They were being boarded at a vet’s office and they needed a new home as soon as possible.
Rosemary has taken them in, loved them up, and made them her family. Harbaugh, the wire-haired boy, is now Harbie. Bochy Isabella, the fawn-colored little girl, is now Bobbie. She’s brought them to the vet, had them looked over, and gotten them licensed. This has cost her a tidy sum, and on a fixed income, it’s more than she bargained for.
Additionally, Harbie has a very large tumor on his abdomen that prevents him from being able to get in and out of the doggy door, and causes him quite a bit of discomfort. The vet at Whistle Stop here in town has estimated it will cost about $8K to debulk. This is an expensive proposition for Rosemary to accomplish, and getting this done for Harbie so his final years are spent comfortably is all she would like to do. She’s quite attached to them both, especially Harbie.
Won’t you please help us collect the money needed to provide Harbie the medical care he needs?
