My daughter Rosemary’s fiancé, Craig, is in end-stage renal failure. As many of you know, Craig became active on the transplant list on December 4th! Because Craig has been on dialysis for over 8 years, he was put at the very top of the list. Last year (before the open-heart surgery), the transplant team told them that when he went active, it would be a whirlwind.
We know it could take some time, but it could also happen very quickly! So we are trying to prepare ahead of time. Rosemary is Craig’s mandatory caregiver and he will need round-the-clock care for the first month after his transplant. They will also have to travel to Indianapolis 3 times a week for that first month. When they get the call, they have to be prepared for Rosemary to stop working for at least a month. They will need a hotel room, plus gas to get back and forth to Indy. They hate to ask for help again, but everyone is very hopeful that this will be the last time!
