Help Triplet & Smithie Graduate from her Master's Program!
Hello to my lovely friends, family, and community. My name is Rose Geiger, she/her pronouns, and I am in my final year of my Master of Social Work program at the University of North Carolina Chapel-Hill.
I am in a bind with my student loans. I am asking for help managing an unexpected extra tuition expense, as well as living costs for the year.
Due to an issue delaying a loan for my summer classes, I am no longer able to take out additional loans to pay for what I still owe, and this is needed to remove the hold on my student account.
I am a full-time student taking an extra-large course-load while being dually enrolled in the school's SUAS addiction certificate, with an unpaid practicum required to graduate. All of my savings are already bare-bone budgeted for rent and food.
As a triplet born 3 months premature, at 27 weeks without functional lungs, and weighing 1.6 oz, I have always been a fighter and self-starter. However, part of what I am learning is that to be a social worker means knowing how to lean into your community and when to ask for help. While difficult for me, I am now at a time where I truly need help and hope the community can help me so I can help others in my future profession.
This year I will be helping children and adolescents with mental health needs, and while unpaid currently, I hope to stay afloat this year until I can graduate and begin working as a therapist or enter a PhD program.
THANK YOU once again, and please know I am so grateful for the support I have in my community.
With love and grace,
Rose
