Support Rose: A Service Dog for Independence

Hello! My name is Savannah Rose Cavitt, and I am a 20-year-old Chinese major at Murray State University. Recently, I faced a life-changing event – I lost my left leg. This has impacted my mobility significantly, making daily activities like moving around, opening doors, and navigating spaces much harder.

As a student and someone working hard to continue my studies, I have been doing my best to stay positive, but I need some extra support to regain some independence and ease in my daily life. I am hoping to raise funds to help me get a service dog specifically trained to assist with mobility.

A service dog would greatly improve my quality of life by being able to pull me in my wheelchair, help me open doors, and provide overall support for moving around. Having a service dog would make it so much easier to complete everyday tasks that most people take for granted.

The total cost of I'm raising now is $2,000, which is quite a bit to cover. Every donation, no matter the amount, will get me one step closer to this life-changing support. $1,500 of the $2,000 will be used for training/boarding fees. $500 will be used for food, vet fees, his vest, and cover traveling fees for any transportation as well.

I have some disheartening news to share, I apologize for not updating.

The dog I had adopted ended up being aggressive, and unfortunately we had to return her. It was one of the hardest things I have done in my life. I was so saddened that I couldn't have her and care for her.

In addition to this, the dog trainer, in which I will not reveal the companies name as I do not want to gain hatred for exposing them, took the payment I made, and tried very hard to convince me the keep the dog by saying awful things to me and commenting on my mental health struggles and manipulating me. I will eventually reveal who this company is to bring awareness, because this treatment is unacceptable, it is just that right now, I do not want to cause any further drama until I am in a good mental state. I have screenshots of our messages as well and I want to advocate for myself.

I am still open to donations currently, as I have lost all that money that I raised. I appreciate your kindness and donations, your support means so much to me. I am so sorry that this has happened. I know you all put a lot of dedication into seeing me get a service animal.
