Support Roscoe's Recovery from Severe Burns

I am Ashley spradlin. The mother of 4 kiddos. My 11 year old boy Roscoe was burned over 71% of his body on October 1st. It was a horrible accident that has taken us two hours from home in a Shriners hospital. He is estimated to be here about 71 days. One day for each precent he was burned. Roscoe

has had 4 surgeries so far to clean the burns and place what is called BMI over his body. We have around 8-12 surgeries left. The doctors here have taken skin to grow to make his first graft. he will need grafts grown for his arms, legs, chest, neck, hands, back and butt. At this point the surgeons do not believe his face will need grafting. Roscoe was a happy boy that loved to ride 4 wheelers, fish, work on anything that moved, and watch after his three sisters. He has a heart of gold and the kindest soul I have met. He always tried to be the man of the house for his momma and his sisters. He is now in a hospital bed unable to do anything for himself. He is doing PT twice a day and pushing through the pain to keep his arms and legs from getting stiff. My little man is gonna have a long road ahead. Once we do get to leave the hospital he will required multiple dressing changes a day, special protective clothing, multiple surgeries back to the hospital for the grafting surgeries and so many other things I just haven’t learned about yet. I am unable to work. I switched to a new company in April of this year so I am not eligible for FMLA. I can get a two week caregiver leave but after that I don’t know what I will do. I have three girls at home that still need their mother and a boy here in this hospital that needs me too. It is hard for me to ask for help. But at this point I don’t have any options. If you can find it in your heart to help us out just a tiny bit I promise the kids and I will appreciate it from the bottoms of our hearts. At this point I haven’t even thought of the cost of medical bills. I am just worried about keeping my lights on and food in my kiddos bellies. I am doing so much driving back and forth and as we all know gas is outrageous. Thank you for taking time to read this. God Bless you.
