A few weeks ago, my mother-in-law was walking home when she suffered an aneurysm. The aneurysm ruptured during surgery, and she's had a number of complications that have left her paralyzed. She's unable to eat, speak, or move much, but her neurosurgeons believe she is completely aware of what's going on. She does not have severe brain damage according to the scans, and with intensive therapy and care, her condition can significantly improve. Essentially, she can learn to talk and walk again.
In the next few weeks, she will live with my brother-in-law in Bogotá, and my husband will be going there to stay with them and help out. She has the most basic health plan available, and we are trying to come up with some funds to cover medical fees, therapy, and essential items to be able to care for her at home, such as a wheelchair, Hoyer, etc.
Any little bit helps. We appreciate your support.
