On 3/28/26, our beloved building cleaner, Rosa, was out for a walk in her neighborhood with her dog Rocky when they were both brutally attacked by a strangers dog. Rosa was extremely injured - sustaining bites, bruises and lacerations all over her body. She was rushed to the ER and spent four nights at the hospital recovering.

Tragically, Rosa's dog Rocky did not survive the attack. He spent several days in and out of the vet but ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Rosa got Rocky when he was seven weeks old and he was 16 at the time

of his passing. He was a small guy but his large and warm heart will be severely missed in the Lopez household.

The attacking dog's owner has been described as living without secure housing or financial means - Rosa's lawyers do not think they will receive any amount of settlement from this man.

This GoFundMe is being set up to help Rosa and her husband Reyes pay for the vet and hospital bills incurred from the attack.

It's heartbreaking to see Rosa already back at work while she is recovering. Rosa has always been extremely kind to us and specifically to our dog Rivas (who runs to Rosa's and Reyes's office every morning to get pets and carrots).

Rosa is a shining light within our community, so let's do all we can to help her get back on her feet.
