This is a difficult time for our family and asking for help is not something we take lightly... But we are doing this for my sister, Rosario Salazar-Vargas, because the financial need for her medical care is currently greater than what our family can manage on our own.
Earlier this year, Rosario was diagnosed with liver cancer. A few weeks ago, after becoming progressively sicker, she went to the hospital and found out she was experiencing serious complications, including complete kidney failure. She has been in the ICU for the past two weeks and will remain hospitalized until further treatment is determined.
Although insurance is covering much of her current care, the life-saving transplant she needs is not covered.
Our initial goal is to raise at least $50,000 to help ease the burden of immediate and future medical expenses, as well as to help her family make ends meet due to her loss of income while she is unable to work. Depending on what insurance is ultimately able to cover, the total cost of her treatment/ transplant may be much higher, but this is a realistic starting point to address the most urgent needs.
Those who know Rosario know that she’s a caring and dedicated mother, daughter and person of faith who has always supported others. At this time, she needs support in return.
Any amount you are able to give will help during this very difficult time and will support Rosario in receiving the life saving medical care she needs. If you are unable to donate, we appreciate your positive thoughts and prayers.
This fundraiser is in Rosario’s name and is being managed by our family on her behalf. Thank you for your support, God bless.
