Reason for fundraiser:
I am Rosangel Paulino’s mom. I’m trying to raise money for her medical bills and personal bills. Her medical bills include buying medications for survival and transportation to medical facilities. Her personal bills include necessities like water, rent, food, and electricity. Her fiancé lost his job because he needed to care for my daughter 24/7 at home after she was discharged on Feb 23, 2025, from the hospital after being admitted since Nov 27, 2024.
Here is my daughter’s story:
My daughter was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes at the age of 13. She was part of the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). A few years later after being diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes Rosangel was then diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Rosangel is 31 years old now and has two beautiful children, Royce and Aleia. Royce is 5 years old and Aleia is 1 year old. During both pregnancies, she developed complications, which were preeclampsia. Preeclampsia took a toll on her body, causing damage to her kidneys, eventually leading to total kidney failure.
My daughter became very ill with breathing problems, nausea, blurry vision, vomiting, and severe headaches. On Nov 7, 2024, her fiancé took her to the hospital emergency room and was told her kidneys had stopped functioning. She was transferred to a different hospital to begin dialysis treatment. A CT scan of her chest revealed fluid retention around her lungs, which was causing issues with breathing, but they never did a CT scan of her head to rule out any other issues, despite her severe headaches, blurry vision, and vomiting. My daughter was discharged from the hospital on Nov 21, 2024, with her blood pressure high at 183/108. The hospital failed to control her blood pressure with medication before discharging her. My daughter needs dialysis three times a week to survive. On her first day at the dialysis clinic on Nov 25, 2024, she had an allergic reaction and was given an EpiPen but was never taken to the hospital as a precaution. On Nov 27, 2024, during her second visit to the dialysis clinic, she was told to have a seat and wait until a chair opened up so she could receive dialysis. A while later, she was found unresponsive, sitting in her seat and having seizures from a lack of oxygen to her brain. She was then transported to the hospital, where they were clueless about what was happening to her. They gave her seizure medication without knowing the cause. She was then intubated and placed on a ventilator. I almost lost my daughter. My daughter has a cortical anoxic brain injury, and the hospital was unsure if she had autoimmune encephalitis or PRES. At this point, my daughter was in a coma and unresponsive.
I thank God that my daughter is a fighter and she is still here with us. “She urgently needs a transplant of two organs” She needs a pancreas and two kidneys. I’m praying she gets the gift of life-saving organs because her children need her. She is a wonderful mother. At the age of 3 years old, her son Royce knew colors, animals, and could read because my daughter taught him everything he knows. He reads to his classmates.
Who is Rosangel?
Rosangel is 31 years old. She is the most funniest, sweetest and the most kindhearted person you’ll ever meet. She has a smile that will brighten up any room or any person. Rosangel loves to sing and write. She is a great singer. She loves listening to music, teaching her children and enjoys spending quality time with them. Rosangel has one sister and two brothers. She is the third out of four. Rosangel is patient, loving and caring toward her children.
Update as of now:
Rosangel is home being taken care of by her fiancé. She is surrounded by her children who love her unconditionally and she also loves them. She is still on a tracheotomy after coding blue twice in the hospital because of the severe damage to her vocal cords. She is enjoying every moment with her babies, although she missed a lot while she was admitted to the hospital in ICU. My daughter has problems with the left side of her body. She has a lot of weakness in left arm and left leg because of the brain injury.
Please help by donating which she desperately needs so she won’t lose her apartment, can pay her bills, and cover her medical necessities. She needs constant oxygen and tracheostomy care. Disability SSI doesn’t give her enough money to cover everything.
Today it’s her, but tomorrow it could be you or a loved one who needs help!
