Support for Ate Rosa and son from Lapu Lapu tragedy
Donation protected
Please help my sister/ate Rosa and my nephew Joshua.
I am Rachelle Santiago setting up this fundraiser for Rosa Santiago, my sister —who is was critically injured in the Lapu Lapu Festival tragedy. I’m an immigrant (Filipino) living in Langley BC.
I am asking for your kindness as we navigate this horrible incident. My sister, Rosa Santiago is 36 years old and her son, Joshua is 3 years old. A hardworking, kind, loving single mother who works day in and day out to provide the best life for Joshua. On April 26, 2025 Rosa attended the Vancouver Lapu Lapu festival to celebrate our Filipino culture, missing home this was a day that she was really looking forward to. Unfortunately, she was one of the victims who suffered devastating injuries, broken arm and leg and trauma. Hindi po niya alam na ginawa ko itong account na to para sakanya, ayaw niya humihingi ng tulong pero kailangan niya ng tulong! Wala naman na siyang asawa. Ako lang ang tutulong po sakanya. Sabi ng doctor it will take a long time for her to recover, 5 to 8 months according to the doctors. I will be helping her take care of Joshua as well as try to look for a second job to support ate Rosa while she’s recovering from her injuries but I don’t think it will be enough and I watch my ate Rosa crying all the time worries she will lose her job and not have enough money for rent and food. Any amount helps, if you can’t donate please share with friends and family. All donations will be directly deposited to Rosa’s account for her and Joshua’s needs.
The emotional and financial burden of this crisis is overwhelming. While we remain hopeful for ate Rose’s recovery, the journey ahead will be long, uncertain, and costly.
Your donation will go directly toward:
Medical expenses
Rehabilitation and long-term care if recovery progresses
Daily bills, groceries, Joshua‘s needs and living expenses, as Rosa will be unable to work.
maraming salamat po,
Rachelle
