Support Rory's Open Fracture Recovery
Donation protected
Rory and I were rock climbing indoors yesterday. I went to grab something from my car and in the time that I was gone, Rory had slipped off the top of a route, resulting in an open fracture. His tibia snapped and pierced his skin.
Nobody witnessed the fall but luckily a fellow climber, who happened to be a nurse, was able to keep Rory calm until the ambulance arrived.
Rory was rushed to the ER at Huntington Memorial Hospital for emergency surgery. The surgeons placed a metal rod in Rory’s leg to structure the bone, resulting in a 3-day hospital stay.
Doctors have said that Rory is looking at about 6 weeks of recovery and is unable to work during that time as his job requires him to be on his feet for hours at a time. He is looking at multiple follow-up PT appointments as well.
I am asking people to help ease the financial burden Rory will face - including the ambulance ride, hospital stay, medical bills, and cost of living expenses since he is unable to work.
Rory just moved to LA 6 months ago and and we want to keep him here! His entire family is across the country unfortunately, and it would be difficult for them to make the trip out.
Anything helps! Thank you <3
