A Heartfelt Plea for Ron’s Recovery

Dear friends, family, and kind souls,

I never imagined I would be in a position to write this, but today I am reaching out with both urgency and hope.

Ron has been in critical condition in Costa Rica since August 22, and in just days, his care has cost over $127,000 out of pocket so far, with more invoices still coming. It’s hard to comprehend, but his care is averaging around $15,000 per day. While my insurance is working with the hospital to set up direct payment, the process is slower than his condition allows. The hospital requires immediate payment, and as I explore every possible resource, I am feeling overwhelmed and exhausted—so much so that it has been hard to process everything and make sure all bases are covered. I am open to any ideas that could help.

On top of medical bills, I need to cover food and lodging here for what is likely a minimum of 2–4 weeks—the best-case scenario for Ron’s recovery. Asking for money is incredibly hard for me, but I am doing this for Ron, to ensure he has the continued care he needs. I will close this GoFundMe as soon as insurance or other resources begin covering these costs.
