Ronald Louks, my dad, was admitted to the ER on Tuesday morning, April 21, for what we thought was a bad flu after throwing up for 5 days in a row. It snowballed into organs in crisis and bleeding in his body. He was in level 3 ICU. Then he got transferred to another hospital for bigger care. There they discovered his esophagus is 80 percent damaged, along with several other issues. It is suspected that he has a rare condition called black esophagus. They can't do anything about it because they're not qualified for that case. So now Dad is being transferred to Stanford for their top esophagus center.
My parents are retired and have very limited income. The bills and cost of gas, food, transportation, as well as 6 days in the hospital with no discharge date, are stacking up very quickly. Mom is moving in with us to be closer to Stanford and will be commuting.
Please consider helping out Ron and Sandy ease their financial burden ❤️
