My name is Keirsten Chaffee and I am raising funds for close friends/coworkers, Ron, & his husband, Michael.

Ron was recently diagnosed with stage 2 prostate cancer & is 67 years old. If he is able to pay for treatment & medication, the cancer is likely to go away and should not spread. Ron & Michael have no financial help & medical bills are piling up.

Ron has already had to get markers implants & hormone blockers which costs $5,000 per month at this time. In order to receive treatment, they must meet a $2,000 deductible. The couple has already paid $1,185 out of pocket for medication & will not be reimbursed even if they are eventually able to receive assistance (currently unavailable). This couple has used their savings to pay $1,700 for office visits alone & still owe $900 for this.

Their overall cost for coverage is $18,000. GFM is starting their goal at $6,000, but their expenses are far beyond this. Anything & everything will help at this time.

As of right now, Ron will be receiving treatments 5 days a week for 6 weeks & will be on these medications for 6 months.

Ron has a list of other conditions he is managing with medication such as: high blood pressure, COPD, & high cholesterol.

Ron & Michael are two of the hardest workers I know and some of the most kindhearted people I’ve ever met. They have used up almost all of their savings & their retirement funds for Ron’s treatments thus far and they haven’t even hit the tip of the iceberg. These men don’t often ask for help & try to do it all on their own, but I want to help them in any way possible during this time.

Ron is truly an angel & this is taking a toll on his physical & mental health, as well as both of their pockets.
