Support Ron's Battle Against Lung Cancer

Dear Friends, Family, Neighbors & Community,
My name is Heather and I am writing today with a deep sadness that I have never felt before. Just recently, my ex-husband Ron was diagnosed with lung cancer. We share a beautiful 10-year-old daughter who is full of life and very much a daddy's girl. As you can imagine, this news came as a shock to all of us. Ron had been sick on and off throughout the year of 2024 and unfortunately, this led to a lot of time missed from work. This put our family in a hard financial bind, but we continued to try and persevere. Last week, Ron became very weak and could not eat or drink anything. At that point, it was time to go to the hospital. We knew Ron had a few minor health issues, however, never in our wildest dreams would we have ever thought he had full-blown cancer as there were no signs or symptoms that would have pointed us to that diagnosis.
Ron has ALWAYS been hard-working, resilient, strong-minded, and a determined individual. He mentored a lot of people throughout his career and life and was an involved dedicated employee who wanted to teach others what he was so great at doing. He stayed involved creating training courses, traveling to teach and spread his knowledge, and so much more!
We have a 10-year-old daughter who came late in life and became Ron's love. The bond he shares with our daughter is like no other. He is patient and thoughtful. I remember when he taught her how to fish for the first time. She was only about 3 years old, when they came home that day from fishing, she had a rod, tackle box, and a fishing vest. She was simply ready to go! It was the cutest thing I've ever seen. Still to this day she loves to fish any chance she gets. I watched their bond grow closer and closer as time went on. To say this is a hard thing to tell a child is an understatement. We are now going through many tests and making decisions we can't even fathom all while trying to protect our baby girl and show her the love and comfort she so needs at this time.
In addition to Ron's diagnosis, we were right in the middle of a move to another house this month and packing when all this came about. We are struggling financially and barely getting by it seemed that life was hitting us with obstacles one after another and then this devastating diagnosis happened to our family.
We are taking things one day at a time, one hour at a time it seems. I wanted to extend our story to the community in an effort to make sure when that time comes we can send Ron off the way he deserves and to also help with the additional financial burdens that have come our way. Lastly, there is our daughter Corral. We want Corral to have all the opportunities a 10-year-old child would have during these precious years.
Any help or support would be SO greatly appreciated, whether it is monetary or just kind words. Ron has very few family members and also was adopted at 5 years old, he does not know any of his health background which makes this so much harder. Your acts of kindness and any help that is provided at this time will go a really long way. If you had the time to read this, WE thank YOU from the very bottom of our hearts.
Please pray for our family and keep us in mind.
Thank you from the very bottom of my heart,
