I am starting this fundraiser for medical assistance for my father, whom so many know and love, Ronnie Pool. Dad was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that has spread to his liver, colon, and bones. Due to the brittleness of his bones, he is currently also suffering from several fractures, including in his leg, back, and ribs. Because of the fractures, he must go through therapy before being able to start chemo. Due to the aggressiveness of the cancer and the number of other issues, things are not looking good. However, he is as tough as nails, if not even tougher. As many know, he is no quitter and is fighting hard to last as long as possible. His goal is to see the birth of his newest grandson in November.

This is where this fundraiser comes in. There is a fear and likelihood that he will be sent home to cope with no one to stay with him full-time. He is effectively bedridden, and this would not be acceptable. We would like to be able to afford to send him to a facility to better cope with his welfare, and his insurance is balking. All funds received will be used in this endeavor. However, if there are any funds left over upon end of life, we would like to use it to create an education trust fund for his non-officially adopted daughter, Kahmaya (shown in the picture). He loves Kahmaya dearly, and his main concern is for her welfare. Kahmaya is his neighbor's granddaughter, whom he has accepted joint guardianship over. Kahmaya has a troubled past, and her future is uncertain. Her dream is to be a doctor or lawyer, and we would like to create a path for this to be a reality.
