Support Ronnie Johnson's “ RJ’s” Road to Recovery
Donation protected
On April 24th 2025 Ronnie Johnson “RJ” was rushed to the emergency room after collapsing on the living room floor. He could not feel his left leg. He was rushed to the hospital Via Ambulance. When we arrived to the hospital they immediately put him into scan and discovered he had suffered an Aorta Artery Dissection. That means his Aorta artery split open. It split open the entire length of the main artery.
He was immediately sent to emergency surgery which lasted 10 hours. During surgery the artery was repaired to prevent it from dissecting towards the heart. He also under went a graph called a fem to fem bi pass. Connecting the femur arteries to restore blood flow to the legs.
As RJ has continued to fight for his life and amazed the drs day after day with his strength more issue have also arose. His kidneys have not been functioning properly so he has been on dialysis. The functioning is unknown to be permanent or temporary at this time. A procedure is planned for next week to graph the aorta artery near the kidney flow veins to ensure proper blood flow to kidneys.
Today May 1st RJ was taken back to surgery due to long term blood flow loss to his legs which resulted in deteriorating tissue and infection. It was determined to save his life he had to undergo a bilateral leg amputation above the knee. RJ made it through this surgery as well. His heart and brain function are still doing amazing. His blood pressure is even stabilizing with very little medication.
Ronnie Johnson is fighting, He is Strong!
The rate of survival is slim to none. He has defeated the odds time and time again!
We his family have collectively decided to turn to fundraising for a few reasons.
