Support Ron Barger's Stroke Recovery
Donation protected
As someone who has faced difficult medical issues in my past and made it through it all with the generosity of friends and family and strangers as well, I'm asking for your help for someone important to me.
Our friend, Ronnie Barger, who is a friend to many and more affectionately known as Ronnie Funball, suffered a severe stroke in early March. The right side of his body was affected considerably and his movement is very limited. His speech has been affected as well. Ronnie has been in the care of Research Hospital and a short-term rehab facility from where he will be released soon. He will then receive outpatient rehab from Ability KC.
Needing quite a lot of care for the forseeable future, Ronnie's ex-wife, Suzetta, along with her husband Larry and Ronnie's son Brett and his wife Jessica have graciously and generously decided to take Ronnie into their home to oversee his recovery. This is a huge undertaking and we should all impressed by the fact that they will open their home to him. But that's not all that Ronnie will need.
Ronnie's recovery will take some time before he becomes able to live semi-independently. Moving in with Suzetta and family seems to be the best option for Ronnie, but their home will need some modification to accomodate his needs and abilities. The bathroom will need to be fitted with a roll-in shower for a wheelchair, with hand grabs and other fixtures as well.
Ronnie faces the daunting challenge of recovering, but is also faced with mounting medical bills, loss of income, and the need for home health care services for an undetermined period of time, speech and physical therapy, transportation to outpatient rehab, all in addition to the modifications needed for his new home with Suzetta, Brett, and their family.
Please find it in your hearts to give to this fund for Ronnie Funball and his future recovery. In addition to sharing this GoFundMe link to everyone you can, also share any memories and photos as well. Ronnie would appreciate hearing from you.
