Support Ronnie Christy in His Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
On Thursday, April 10, my dad, Ronnie Christy, was diagnosed with terminal esophageal cancer.

Over the past month, he began experiencing difficulty swallowing and numbness on the right side of his face. When the swallowing issues worsened—reaching the point where he couldn't eat solid food without drinking immediately after—he went to the emergency room on April 8. After undergoing MRIs and CT scans, doctors discovered a tumor in his brain, as well as additional tumors in his liver, lungs, and lymph nodes.

Once admitted to the hospital, an endoscopy revealed a massive tumor in his esophagus, where the cancer originated.

This diagnosis has turned our world upside down.

If you know my dad, you know he is the hardest-working, kindest, most generous, and selfless person you’ll ever meet. He always has a smile on his face and can make anyone laugh—even in the darkest moments. He gives without expecting anything in return, always puts others first, and brings light and warmth to every room he enters. As a nurse, he’s dedicated his career to caring for others—offering comfort, compassion, and strength to people in their most vulnerable moments.

He’s already beat cancer once. Three years ago, he underwent a partial nephrectomy to remove a mass from his kidney. Now, he’s facing an even greater battle.

My mom, a dedicated special education teacher, hasn’t left his side. She has very limited time off and has already used nearly all of it over the past week just to be with him. My younger brother, Lance, is currently deployed with the Navy as an aviation mechanic, and my little sister, Lily, is in the 7th grade. We’re each doing our best to stay strong and support him in our own ways, even while being spread across different places and stages of life.

Next week, my dad will begin chemotherapy and radiation as we take the first steps in this fight. We don’t know exactly what the road ahead looks like, but we do know it will be filled with challenges—physically, emotionally, and financially. As a family, we’re doing everything we can to support one another, but we’re also learning to lean on the kindness of others during this incredibly difficult time.

We’ve created this fundraiser to help ease the financial burden of Ronnie’s care—covering hospital stays, treatments, and any additional costs that come with navigating a terminal cancer diagnosis. We want to ensure that my mom can be by his side without worrying about missing work, and that our family can focus on spending as much meaningful time with him as possible.

If you can donate, it would mean the world to us. Every little bit helps and will go directly toward helping my dad during this fight. If you can’t give, please consider sharing this page with others. We also ask that you keep my dad and family in your prayers. Your prayers, love, and support are deeply appreciated and truly help carry us through.
