Update: I am mostly caught up, at least not at risk for foreclosure at this moment, but still short one month, $1500. I have received my first check from work and it is not what I thought it would be, so I have increased my goal to $7000 to get be back in the green. I need to pay August to be current and then I should be back on track with my off-farm work income. Thank you so much!
Hi, I'm Roni and I'm a farmer trying to keep my farm. I went through a divorce 2 years ago and lost my job shortly after. I have a nursing degree, but finding a job that worked with the farm has been really hard. I've tried very hard to make the farm make money, and in the past, it has supported itself and me, but not anymore. I recently found a job that works with my animal chores and I'll only gone for a few hours a day. I do this on my own with no help, so I can't just leave for 8-12 hours a day. I will be making enough to pay my mortgage and personal bills, but I'm behind on the mortgage and have been since April. The bank has NOT been helpful because my income was soley based on the farm and I'll need to work for a while before a bank will see it as income. I need to pay $3006 by Aug 5th or they will start the foreclosure process. My paycheck on will be about $1400, minus taxes ect. I've paid my mortgage for 12 years and never missed a payment until April, but they will put me into foreclosure for $6000 - which is due in total at this moment to get caught up. I will get there, but I'm on a timeline that isn't very favorable at the moment. So I'm reaching out for help. I've got a lot of animals that depend on me and I've made it through the 2 years, so I can't give up now.
