On Saturday morning, October 25th, my mom, Ronda , was in a terrible car accident. Her car slipped on gravel, she overcorrected, went down a ditch, hit a culvert, crossed a driveway, and crashed into a barbed wire fence before finally coming to a stop.
She was rushed by ambulance to Conway Regional, where doctors discovered she had a broken ankle, a broken C2 vertebrae in her neck, a spleen laceration, and internal bleeding around her liver and colon. She was later transferred to UAMS in Little Rock, where further scans revealed an old blood clot in her brain. Thankfully, she did not need brain surgery, but she continues to undergo MRIs, CT scans, echocardiograms, and bloodwork as her medical team monitors her closely.
Ronda will need orthopedic surgery in the coming days and is expected to remain in the hospital for at least another week. Once she’s released, she’ll be in a neck brace (C-collar) for six weeks, and we’re still unsure what recovery at home will look like after such a serious accident.
Ronda is the manager of the local Dollar General, and if you live nearby, chances are she’s greeted you with a smile or helped you find what you needed. She’s the kind of person who would give you everything she has if you needed it — always putting others first and doing anything for the people she cares about.
We’re asking for help to ease the financial burden while she’s out of work and recovering. Funds will go toward bills, living expenses, and anything she needs during her healing process so she can focus on getting better without added stress.
Our family is so grateful for every donation, prayer, and share. Thank you all for the love and support you’ve shown — it truly means the world to us. ❤️
