Support Ronald Corbin's In-Home Care Needs
Donation protected
Dear Friends/Family/Community,
It pains me that we find ourselves in this position, and I have put this off for as long as possible. Sadly, I cannot do so any longer. To put it plainly, we need help.
Since undergoing a kidney transplant in 2018, my dad, Ronald Corbin, has faced numerous medical complications and the onset of dementia, a combination that has significantly impacted his ability to care for himself. Despite his strength and resilience, he now requires professional in-home care 12 hours a day. His greatest wish is to remain in his own home, where he feels most comfortable and safe. Unfortunately, the cost of the quality of care that he needs far exceeds his income. My hope is to supplement his retirement benefits so that I can continue to pay out of pocket until I’m able to successfully get him qualified for Medicaid, a process that is taking far longer than anticipated.
With that, I’m asking for your support. Any contribution, no matter how small, will have a profound impact on his quality of life. While I know that his strong preference is to avoid this approach, our reality is that we are at an impasse and must humble ourselves to ask for help. All donations received via GoFundMe will go directly to a trust that has been established for the sole purpose of covering dad’s healthcare expenses.
Regardless of the outcome, it heartens me to know that my dad is surrounded by a community he loves so dearly – one that is a reflection of the love he has poured into it throughout his life and career. That community continues to lift him up during these challenging times.
As ever, I am grateful for your kindness and generosity.
Sincerely,
Candice Corbin
