Support Ronal Lopez's Medical Journey

Good afternoon, my name is Gervin Lopez. The one in the picture is my brother Ronal Lopez. He is one of the four people that is suffering from the shooting that happened at Southwood Apartments on August 17, 2025. We didn't know anything about him being at the hospital until Tuesday August 19, 2025. We were looking for him and nobody gave us any news or information. He was shot three times, one of the bullets hit him on the left side of the chest, the other two bullets hit his back which impacted his dorsal spine breaking two disks. The doctors don't know if he will be able to walk because it's too soon to tell. We don't know if he's going to regain his voice or if he'll be able to move his hands. We ask the community to please help us pay his medical bills and therapy. He currently can not breathe on his own and needed a surgery to install a tube on his neck to help him breathe. The doctors have been telling us that he will need a lot of support for him to be able to recover. We have a long road of recovery ahead of us. I have had to stop working to be able to be by his side so he can see that there's many people that care about him. We're here by ourselves trying to provide a better life for our family back in Honduras. Ronal is a hard working person who loves spending time with my three dogs, he loves going out to eat and loves to draw. We just want to see him recover, if not fully at least recover part of his life. Anything helps. We will be more than happy to share his recovery on this journey that awaits us after he leaves the hospital. Our dad is in Honduras and we are also trying to bring him on a Humanitarian Parole to come see him in the times that he needs his family the most. Thank you for helping us in this time of need.

Buenas tardes, me llamo Gervin López. El de la foto es mi hermano Ronal López. Es una de las cuatro personas afectadas por el tiroteo ocurrido en los Apartamentos Southwood el 17 de agosto de 2025. No supimos nada de su hospitalización hasta el martes 19 de agosto de 2025. Lo buscábamos y nadie nos dio noticias ni información. Recibió tres disparos: uno en el lado izquierdo del pecho y los otros dos en la espalda, impactando en la columna vertebral, fracturándole dos discos. Los médicos no saben si podrá caminar porque es demasiado pronto para saberlo. No sabemos si recuperará la voz ni si podrá mover las manos. Pedimos a la comunidad que nos ayude a pagar sus gastos médicos y su terapia. Actualmente no puede respirar por sí solo y necesitó una cirugía para colocarle un tubo en el cuello. Los médicos nos han dicho que necesitará mucho apoyo para su recuperación. Tenemos un largo camino de recuperación por delante. Tuve que dejar de trabajar para poder estar a su lado y que vea que hay mucha gente que se preocupa por él. Estamos aquí, solos, intentando brindarle una vida mejor a nuestra familia en Honduras. Ronal es un muchacho a quien le gusta dibujar, le encanta jugar con mis tres perros y es una persona muy trabajadora. Solo lo queremos ver recuperado aunque no sea completamente. Cualquier ayuda nos ayuda. Estaremos encantados de compartir su recuperación en este camino que nos espera después de que salga del hospital. Nuestro padre está en Honduras y también estamos intentando conseguirle un Permiso Humanitario para que pueda verlo cuando más necesite a su familia.
